Social.Lab conquers the land of the rising sun
After Brussels, New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Singapore, Dubai, Bucharest, Johannesburg and Cape Town, Social.Lab, which is part of the WPP group (Ogilvy, Group M, …), now landed in the land of the rising sun. The belgian social media agency just opened its first office in Tokyo.
Belgians Xavier Caytan (ex-DBB and –JWT) and Juanma Bonastre (ex-Ogilvy and –TBWA) will lead a team that will serve BAT (British American Tobacco), in close collaboration with Ogilvy and Geometry Japan.
Yves Baudechon, co-founder and President of Social.Lab Worldwide: “After Singapore, we really wanted to further increase our presence in Asia. Japan is the world’s third largest economy. Gilles Bindels and myself are therefore very pleased to announce that we are opening an office here.”
Xavier Caytan about his departure: “To be able to build a team internationally and that in a country as inspiring as Japan, that’s an opportunity I just couldn’t miss.”
Juanma Bonastre is ready for his new challenge: “People often say that if you want to make progress, you need to get out of your comfort zone. After working as a Senior Social Creative for several years, for both local and international clients, I felt it was finally time to leave my comfort zone. And what better way to do that than becoming Creative Director of a Social.Lab team in Japan?”
